These classes are designed to run for 12-15 months of a baby’s development progressing through stages 1 to 4. The teaching is based on the Birthlight holistic principles where parents and babies are encouraged to explore the water above and below the surface in a safe and relaxed environment.
The sessions involve gentle movements through the water encouraging muscular and neurological development. We use a variety of holds, rotations and encourage babies social skill to develop with different activities. There is a strong emphasis on water safety throughout each session as well as fun songs and plenty of toys. Teachers are trained in Birthlight methods which ensures parents are comfortable with how far these session progress and it is a customised class. This approach is unique and submersion's are never mandatory and parents don't feel pressured to partake. Our experience has found parents moving to Aqua Jems holistic and baby centred approach are more comfortable and babies remain happy in the water. The vast majority of parents will become at ease with submerging their baby but it is very much the belief of Aqua Jems that this should be done in a sensitive, respectful manner and only if an individual baby is interested and happy. It is Aqua Jems aim to produce children who are happy and confident in the water and this is not achieved through techniques where babies are forced to comply to submersion's repetitively.
The Aqua Splashers stages are carefully created to ensure progression is achieved in every area of development and consistency is maintained throughout the stages promoting an easy transfer to Aqua Movers and independent swimming. Parents are regularly amazed at their babies progress and achievements.
Our classes run all year, with just 3 weeks with no lessons during the year, ensuring your child gets the routine and consistency that is so important at this age. There is no requirement for re-booking and we don't ask for huge amounts of money up front. We offer a trial session and after that our payment terms are simply one month at a time in advance by standing order on the same date each month, making our sessions more convenient for your finances.
